A few months ago I entered some of my artworks into an annual juried competition. This was the second time I had entered this specific competition, and the second time I didn’t get selected. Today, after a bit of a delay, I finally received feedback from the jury; once again, words of encouragement:

This entry shows work that is much more profound than it appears and deserves close attention. Your work provides a fascinating instrument for reflection and you have found something very strong. Your technique could still be improved. You make life more exciting with your art. Work further and you will make your mark!

Oh well, 238 days before the deadline to get my next entries submitted for the 2017 cycle.
