With so many great submissions the judges had a difficult choice, however the final selection was made based on originality, creativity and public appeal. Nonetheless we thank you for taking the time to create and send through your designs and we hope to work with you in the future

Hey, at least I tried. And even though I didn’t get selected, it was still worth the effort. I’m particularly pleased with my entries, especially entry #1, and the whole overprinting vibe.

When I was re-reading the brief, and when making the entries, the whole issue of associating color with christmas came to mind. In the western tradition, its the green and red, and that’s what I stuck with (given the presumed target audience). Of course, that is a culturally specific combination, and other cultures see colors and combinations differently — this is something I touched on before and I think this is path that needs further exploration in my research and practice.
