Following on from fiber proof two a quick detour to construct a similar design but using different material — flattened raffia on paper — horizontal bands of yellow raffia orthogonal to vertical bands of purple raffia deliberately overlapping the former and each other and cut to approximate a curve.

The image was captured on a flat-bed scanner and lightly post-processed in Photoshop. The yellow was especially difficult to treat and some serious level adjustment was needed. When brought into the digital realm the organic looking textured nature of the synthetic raffia color field becomes very apparent, more if additional post processing is applied.
